Curriculum development is a continuous process that is to be evaluated with regard to the development of science and technology.
A BETTER FUTURE THROUGH QUALITY EDUCATION
In education, a strong foundation leads to great potential; appropriate education at a young age is so important. Our school curriculum focuses on key growth areas, such as cognitive, social, emotional and personal skills, providing each student individual care in each of these areas in order to promote peak development.
EDUCATION WITH LOVE and TRUST
In order to bring out the innovative, creative, and curious individual in a student, a school’s curriculum should be tailored to the needs of the individual. Through the education at Kesatuan Bangsa, our main focus is to allow our students to pursue their own paths of self-improvement, academia, socializing, physical fitness, and information acquisition, but also be each step of the way as mentors and guides to ensure each student remains on the correct path.
COMBINATION of TEACHERS and NATIONAL CURRICULUM
With a sound basis of national and international curriculum and supported by competent teachers, students are trained to habituate a global attitude, whereby they will be enabled to interact effectively in an international environment.
HIGH TARGETS in EDUCATION
Group activities amongst faculty have become an essential part of the success in our schools. Department meetings not only strengthen educational productivity, but also promote harmony in education in our institution.
OUR CLASSES LIMITED CAPACITY
The student teacher ratio is an important factor for teacher-student interaction in class. One of our missions is to improve the quality of education, and therefore the number of students in our class should be as small as possible. With the number of students at 24 per class, we expect good communication between teachers and students;hence a more conducive learning environment will be accomplished.
The SAT test that measures their analytical abilities in Mathematics and English. This test also becomes one of the requirements to apply to universities in various countries. Students can compare their academic achievement to other students around the world.

OUR LANGUAGE POLICY
We implement bilingual education in the learning process. Science subjects, such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, are taught in English and supported by books in the same language. The non-science subjects are taught in Indonesian which is supported by the books in the same language as well.
INTENSIVE ENGLISH PROGRAM
The standard of English education in our school is based on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). Under this intense criteria, our students focus on improving four main skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. Furthermore, our native English teachers help reinforce good habits during our students’ language acquisition.
INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ENGLISH TESTS
By using the CEFR, the standard English proficiency of our students is tested via Cambridge testing each year. This test is very important to measure the progress of students’ language through the internationally recognized standards. In accordance with the levels of each year students will take the test, KET (Key English Test), PET (Preliminary English Test) or FCE (First Certificate of English).
EXPLOITING TECHNOLOGY in EDUCATION
Educational methodology must constantly improve in order to remain relevant. Living in the information age, classical methods of teaching have become less and less viable, and a need for more effective, active and engaging methods has become necessary. At Kesatuan Bangsa, by combining our more contemporary educational methods with modern technology, we have created a more advantageous as well as a more interactive learning environment for our students.
NATIONAL EXAMINATION PREPARATION
As part of the national curriculum, we realized the students need in preparation for the National Examination (UN) as a tool to measure their competency standards and as a condition of continuing to pursue higher degrees. In meeting these needs we provide an intensive program of UN preparation besides regular lessons.
OLYMPIADS ARE ESSENTIAL at KESATUAN BANGSA SCHOOL
Early in the first semester, Olympiad candidate students participate in introductory lessons after being selected through intense competitive examinations. Subsequently, considerations are made for which student joins what group most suited to them and also who will be sent for the National Science Olympiad (OSN) exam. The Olympiad enables students to gain more disciplined study habits, improve analytical thinking and also have the opportunity to be awarded a scholarship.
CREATIVE INDIVIDUALS in the FIELD of SCIENCE
Various science projects in our schools aim to nurture individual students research and analysis. Our young inventors pursue their studies under the tutelage of our teachers. These students and the hard work they put into their projects not only represent a brighter future for their country but also a brighter future for the world.
CREATIVITY in ART
Through visual arts, students have the opportunity to express their thoughts and ideas as well as showcase their knowledge and talents through various techniques, materials and technologies in the field of design. Using both traditional and contemporary materials, our program assists students in mastering various methods of expression as well as helps them to improve their manipulation of these various artistic materials.
SPORTS for a HEALTHY LIFE
Keeping the body as well as the mind healthy and active requires exercise. We offer our students a variety of sports and other activities to keep them fit, and also help them discover their hidden athleticism. Alongside their regular curriculum of physical education, we offer a variety of sport clubs for our students during the school year.

Reports are given to students after testing, revealing their full current academic standing as well as grades in their full detail. This keeps our parents fully updated on their child’s progress and helps to address any troubled areas in a timelier manner.
BECAUSE LEARNING MUST BE REAL…
Learning does not always have to occur in the classroom. Each semester students undertake a study tour to various places according to their topics discussed in the lesson. Through the study tour students make observations and analysis directly on a variety of topics with a more pleasant atmosphere.
NATIONAL and INTERNATIONAL TRIPS
For our students travelling can be enjoyable as well as educational. Our travel program consists of four groups, which are city-wide, national and international trips as well as project travels.

OUR EDUCATION FROM NON-ACADEMIC PERSPECTIVE
MORAL EDUCATION and CHARACTER BUILDING
Kesatuan Bangsa School is deeply concerned about moral standards. We have a goal to build new generations of highly competent graduates with high morals. The moral values are embedded through the character building activities. Raising the moral values is very important at their age. It is expected when students continue to the next level that the moral values will become their personalities.
MORAL EDUCATION THROUGH VARIOUS ACTIVITIES
In Kesatuan Bangsa School we plan and carry out various activities throughout the year in order to enhance social values within our students. These values, like morality, understanding, loyalty, and solidarity are crucial things that help our students grow into more responsible and mature citizens.
HOMEROOM TEACHERS as a FOUNDATION of COMMUNICATION
We optimize the homeroom function as effectively as possible to the development of each student. Homeroom is fully responsible for their students both with regard to the field of academic and character building. Relationships among students, homeroom and parents are built as warm as possible through positive activities so that communication and development of the students can be well maintained.
In addition to weekly joint activities per classes, every homeroom teacher has an obligation to meet one by one with each student periodically. The meeting is a natural communication in which students are encouraged to exchange ideas about all the things they want to say. Each student takes time and has a place to exchange ideas both within the group and per individual.
As part of the guidance and counseling services, a visit to the parents is a mandatory agenda conducted every homeroom teacher each semester. We do not consider the distance and time. Those who are outside the island are also visited. The visit serves not only to build ties with the parents, but also to make sure that all parents are involved in their child’s education wherever they are.
COLLEGE COUNSELLING & CAREER PLANNING
We believe it takes careful planning to achieve success in the field of academics and non-academics for students. And we believe as the main perpetrators the students should be involved early on to design a future that works for them. To answer that we open a special department of College and Career Counseling that helps students and parents to make educational planning to a higher level from university even planning their careers. Students who are involved from the outset proved to have a sense of responsibility to better their lives.
BECAUSE WE ARE PART of the COMMUNITY
We care about character education, especially with regard to students’ social sensitivity. By involving students, parents and the entire community of Kesatuan Bangsa, we do a lot of social activities kemasyarkatan. In one year there are three major programs that are held regularly and are: Ramadan package distribution, the distribution of sacrificial meat and donations to orphans. Students are involved as the main actors in these activities.
In every Muslim holy month of Ramadan (Ramadhan), Kesatuan Bangsa School holds a set of activities, such as fast-breaking with orphanages and package distribution for less fortunate families (dhuafa). The school also collaborates with several universities and religious schools (pesantren) and orphanages for package distribution. Break fasting with students and parents is a routine agenda in every Ramadan.
DISTRIBUTION of MEAT of SACRIFICE EID AL-ADHA
At the annual time of Eid al-Adha (or Eid al-Qurban), our school ritually sacrificies animals. Aside from being an expression of gratitude, this event also aims to build students’ social sensitivity to share with those less fortunate. This program involves students, parents, all school community and society in general.
DISTRIBUTION of PACKAGES for ORPHANS
Every year we do fundraising and distribution of packages for orphans from our surroundings. The event involves all stakeholders, especially the students and parents as well as other donators.
THERE ARE MANY WAYS to RELIEVE BOREDOM
We realize that sometimes boredom is experienced by everyone, including the students. Therefore, each semester students are encouraged to relax for a while, eliminating fatigue in an outing program to various places. The program also strengthens communication between the students and teachers.
Our students’ social development is just as important to us as their academic development. Nurturing their individuality, as well as helping them discover their innate talents, helps them grow into confident individuals. This is why Kesatuan Bangsa presents students with many choices in club activities, including various social, sport, cultural and science clubs.

OUR SCHOOL BOARDING SYSTEM
Our target is to break the boundaries for education by dormitory. Our accommodation style is quite different than ordinary dormitories. We have mentors stay 24 hours in dormitories with students. They are a good example for the behavior of the students, directing students to learn. Harmonious relationship between the mentors and students creates a comfortable and harmonious atmosphere as a family.
