What’s KBS accreditation’s predicate?

Kesatuan Bangsa is a school with the status of an SPK (cooperative school). SPK is a type of school that is allowed by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia to use a foreign curriculum based on Permendikbud No. 31 of 2014. Currently KBS is using Cambridge Curriculum provided by Cambridge International Education. SPK is accredited by BAN-S / M using an accreditation instrument that is different from the instrument used to accredit national schools. This difference lies not only in the instrument, but also in the assessment. To get the A predicate, SPK must get a minimum score of 96. In the accreditation carried out in 2019, SMP Kesatuan Bangsa received a score of 95 with the title B. Then in the SPK accreditation in 2020, SMA Kesatuan Bangsa managed to get a score of 96, which means getting the title A.

Learning process at KBS uses a device called a Chromebook. Please explain about this device and other facilities used in learning process.

Chromebook is a digital device that looks like a regular laptop. The difference with laptops in general lies in the operating system. Chromebooks use the ChromeOS operating system developed by Google from the open source Chromium Project. Initially, the Chromebook was intended for the SME market. However, when schools in the United States started using it for reasons of the “simplicity” of its system, Google began to shift its target and dedicate its ecosystem to education. One of the features that distinguishes Chromebooks from other products is the Console Device Management which allows school administrators to enforce device usage policies simultaneously for all users. This CDM application is very crucial in the operation of Chromebooks in schools. Other main features are ease of use, operational optimization for web-based education, relatively safe from virus attacks, and a long period of support for automatic updates from Google compared to other devices. Other facilities received by students are the use of bandwidth up to 2 MB. The use of Chromebook refers to school regulations as stated in the Kesatuan Bangsa School’s rule book.
