Kesatuan Bangsa School

An extraordinary festival of science, arts, and culture entitled ‘KBS Fest 2023’ was held by Kesatuan Bangsa School (KBS), Yogyakarta on Saturday, 4 February 2023 in Jogja City Mall. With the theme ‘Shine the Light, Win the Might’, KBS students showcased their interests and expertise on science and social subjects, technology, and arts through hands-on experiments, performances, and mini talkshows.

KBS Fest 2023 was filled with amazing performances by KBS students such as music ensembles, multi-language songs, taekwondo, mini talkshows, and dances. As Ainanur Lutfiana, the head committee of this event, explained, KBS students’ talents and interests were not only exhibited in the form of artistic performances, but also a multitude of science experiments and demonstration of natural science, social science, maths, language, and culture in 48 different booths. 

In addition to the subject-related booths, this first educational festival in Yogyakarta also presented students projects on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics), sports, scientific research, and olympiad which are also the charasteristics of Kesatuan Bangsa School. Danisdhia Sang Pramastha, a year-11 student, explained that his Magnus Effect project showed him that the application of what he learned in physics and STEAM class in this project was interesting and had made him love to learn physics. Fun Microlife project from  year 7 students also showed the life of microorganism they learnt in biology class in a fun and interesting way. Not only that, the performances from many different languages and cultures around the world such as Indonesian, Javanese, English, Chinese, Turkish, and Arabic songs, Saman and German dances, and a taekwondo performance had made KBS Fest 2023 an inspiring and festive celebration of students’ academic and non-academic talents. A huge appreciation is well-deseverd for the creativity and collaboration of the entire Kesatuan Bangsa School community including the students, teachers, staffs, and parents. We hope that this event encourages students to be more passionate in pursuing their studies and exploring their creativity as our country’s future golden generation.
